Will YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI surpass RACE 2?
Undoubtedly this Friday's awaited release, Dharma Productions' Ayan Mukerji directed, YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, has indeed reached its peak in terms of hype and anticipation. The audience, especially the youth, are awaiting the film eagerly and trade is abuzz with excitement as the day gets nearer and nearer.
RACE 2 and YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI
RACE 2 and YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI

This has indeed been a very dull, in fact a bad first five months of the year for Bollywood with just a couple of hits (JOLLY L.L.B. and KAI PO CHE!) and only one blockbuster (AASHIQUI 2), but the fifth month is expected to close with the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer, YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, bringing cheers all round by doing humongous business.

Trade has predicted that YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI is being touted as the highest grossing film of the first half of the year overtaking Tips' RACE 2 which till now enjoyed pole position, having netted 95 crore, just from the Indian theatrical run.

CHECK OUT: Karan Johar - I take no credit for YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI

However for that not only YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI will have to take a superb opening likeRACE 2 (which it surely will!) but it will also have to sustain well to overtake RACE 2 which unfortunately fell substantially in its second week like most action flicks!

Let's hope that Bollywood which is facing a crisis of sorts comes out of it with YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI going on to be the second blockbuster of the year after AASHIQUI 2 and the first 100 crore plus netter of the year.

Priyanka Chopra loses her once famous curves: View pics!

Priyanka Chopra loses her once famous curves: View pics!We spotted the Barfi! actor at an event recently and the babe simply stunned us into silence with her much thinner avatar. Take a look

However hard we try to scratch our head to figure out if Priyanka-the oh-so-sizzling-Chopra ever looked fat during her filmi career, we simply couldn’t entertain the thought.
‘Coz seriously speaking, PeeCee never looked fat. She might have looked a little plump or chubby till Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion, but after that the babe never had an ounce of extra fat on her toned bod. And recently when we spotted her at an event, we were both surprised and shocked to see the Barfi! star squeezed into an impossibly thin avatar.
Here’s PeeCee in a pink body hugging outfit trying to look her fit, fine and fabulous self. The 31-year-old star has certainly amazed us with her toned bod but where have the curves gone babe?
With her waist squeezed into half its size, Priyanka looks super thin below the belt. Impressive? Naah, we don’t think so. And what made her look pencil-thin in the first place, we wonder! A secret birdie chirps to us that Piggy Chops has worked really hard for Sanjay Leela’s ambitious biopic based on the renowned boxer Mary Kom and the result is for all to see.
Well, we hope PeeCee will get back into her famous Dostana shape soon and flaunt her curves in a swimsuit once again! What say, BollywoodLifers?

Veena Malik tries to sell…with sex!

The Pakistani wannabe starlet visited the red light district in Mumbai to promote her new film, Zindagi 50-50

Sometimes we just gotta wonder about life. She is not bad looking, she is not too old, she is not that bad an actor that she cannot be moulded and she could be any one of the many PYTs trying to make it in Bollywood. But then why – and this is an impassioned plea – does Veena Malik insist on taking the down and dirty fast track to fame…or should that read ‘notoriety’?
Instead of taking it slow and steady and working on her acting chops, this gal has chosen to shed all her inhibitions after she shed her clothes and is working it with a flash of flesh and a pout of over-painted lips to grab attention. And where Sherlyn Chopra has gone kind-of, maybe, perhaps, borderline respectable with her bona fide shoot for Playboy magazine and a film being showcased at Cannes, Veena has just sunk lower in the cheap stakes with every move she has made, from denying a nude cover shoot to her latest stunt for that share of the limelight.
Her latest is an appearance in the red light district of Mumbai (Kamathipura), where she met sex workers and distributed condoms, all to promote her new film, Zindagi 50-50, in which she plays a lady of the streets called Madhuri. And frankly, rude as we may sound, she fit right in to the environment she was visiting, with her overly low cut red top and those frighteningly pouty red lips…shudder! Ask us or not, but in our honest opinion, Ms Malik needs a new career guidance counsellor. She is on a track that will not get her more than C-grade (or below) projects in moviedom if she keeps going in her particular direction. But maybe that is what our wannabe heroine is aiming at…. Who knows!

Salman Khan to resume Mental shoot next week

The shoot had been stalled following the fighters’ issues over payment

Salman Khan and his brother Sohail Khan, who have been battling the stunt fighters’ demands, can now breathe a sigh of relief. The Lavasa schedule of the Salman starrer,Mental was shelved last month after the fighters from the South refused to shoot, as they demanded equal remuneration to that of Bollywood fighters. They claimed they were being paid half as much as the B-town stuntmen and the movie had only 30 percent fighters from down South.
Producer-director Sohail is said to have lost around 12 days of shooting and incurred heavy losses amounting to few crores of rupees. A source close to Sallu says, “Salmanbhai is disturbed with the South fighters abandoning the schedule of the big budget film mid-way. And so he has decided not to work with them.”
However, the President of Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), Dharmesh Tiwari supports Salman‘s decision. “As per the All India Film Employees Confederation (AIFEC), 70 per cent of the fighters have to be local and 30 per cent from the region of the fight master (the south in this case). The demand by the southern fighters for 50 per cent representation is unreasonable and just not acceptable. They have to adhere to the rules. I don’t think Salman’s decision is wrong,” he said while talking to a newspaper.
Wethinks now that this issue is solved, the Khan brothers should shift their focus back on completing the film on time and getting an apt title for their film since they aren’t really happy with Mental.

Happy times for sad endings in Bollywood?

Happy times for sad endings in Bollywood? When rockstar Rahul Jaykar jumps to his death in the climax of 'Aashiqui 2', not many were sure if a sad ending would work for the love story. But shattering all myths about sad endings' fate at the box office, the film became a runaway hit. A trade source says, "Actually, such excuses (tragic ending) crop up when a movie sinks at the box office and the concerned filmmaker looks for justifications to save face."

Says Shagufta Rafique, the writer of Aashiqui 2, "We did not think of any other end. The film is about a man who ends his life so that his lover can live on; we never worried if the ending will affect BO performance. I won't call it a risk, it was about being true to the story."

But despite the success of tragic love stories — Ranbir Kapoor'sRockstar (2011) is another recent example — not many filmmakers are ready to take the risk. For example, the original storyline of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi 6 (2009) had Abhishek Bachchan's character dying. But after pressure from the studio, the director changed it. Both endings were shot and there were reports that the film would be re-released with its original climax.

This trend is not new. Twenty-five years ago, Mansoor Khan had also shot two climaxes for Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988). A trivia on the film states that while the older audience wanted a happy ending, the younger ones preferred a sad one. Finally, the director chose tragedy. In fact, Mughal-E-Azam (1960), the mother of all Bollywoodlove stories, ends on a tragic note.

Says film writer Dilip Thakur, "The sad ending of Ek Duje Ke Liye (1981) became the high point of its BO success, though there were reports of lovers committing suicide after watching the film. But there have been instances of filmmakers changing the end of films. One example is Rajesh Khanna's Baharon Ke Sapne (1967). Kajol's Sapnay (1997) also had different endings in different languages."

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt recalls how Arth (1982) didn't have any takers initially because of its sad ending. He says, "The know-it-alls of the industry said, an end in which the woman turns her back on her husband and lover, would prove disastrous. The film was not sold for a year. But if it worked eventually due to its so-called sad end. Even with Aashiqui 2, it is the tragedy that has contributed to its success."

Devdas is another classic example. Says a trade source, "It's a movie that has been attempted several times in Indian cinema. The film projected the male protagonist hitting the bottle with a vengeance, but did that aspect keep the audience away from theatres?"

Interestingly, actors like Rajesh Khanna and Shah Rukh Khan have benefitted from being tragic heroes. Thakur says, "After Aradhana (1969), Khanna wanted to die in every film — be itKhamoshi (1969), Safar (1970) or Anand (1971). So much so, Amitabh Bachchan was supposed to die according to the original script of Namak Haraam (1973). But that was changed on Khanna's insistence."

Mahesh Babu all set to make his Bollywood debut

Mahesh Babu

Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu is all set to make his Bollywood debut with director duo Krishna DK-Raj Nidumoru's upcoming film.
Southern actor Dhanush is making his Bollywood debut with Raanjhanaa next month, Ram Charan Teja will reprise the role of megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the remake version of Zanjeer, Prithviraj Sukumaran made his acting debut with Aiyyaa and his recent release was Aurangzeb and now Mahesh Babu is set to enter B-town.
"We are doing a film with Mahesh Babu. We were in talks with him since six months. It is an action-comedy film. It is not a remake of any south film, it is an original subject," Raj told PTI.
The makers are in search of a leading lady and are open to having either a known actress or even a newcomer, whoever fits the role.
This untitled film is likely to be made in two languages - Hindi and Telugu. The shooting for the film will begin by the end of this year.
The director duo rocked the Hindi box-office with their zombie comedy film Go Goa Gone, starring Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Vir Das and Puja Gupta.
Post the release of their recently released film 'Go Goa Gone', Raj and DK are set to start another film with Saif Ali Khan.
The film will be a romantic-comedy and will see Saif romancing Ileana D'Cruz.
"The shooting for this film will begin in a month. The story is based in LA but it has nothing to do with NRI couple. It is a completely original film," Raj said.

Bollywood fashion at Cannes

(Any opinions expressed here are those of the authors and not necessarily of Reuters)
The image of Aishwarya Rai in a striking yellow sari with lots of gold jewellery walking the red carpet at Cannes 2002 is one that a generation of Indian movie fans may not forget.
Few Indians were familiar with Cannes until the actress made an appearance on the French Riviera. Not only did Rai introduce fans back home to the world’s leading cinema showcase, she also made global audiences take note of Bollywood. This year, the 66th Cannes festival is showcasing India as a guest country to mark the centenary of its film industry.
Celebrities such as Sonam KapoorMallika SherawatNawazuddin SiddiquiFrieda Pinto and Amitabh Bachchan made an appearance – and had to step up their fashion game.
Glamour is key at the annual film festival and the trek down the red carpet is fraught with risk for the glitterati.
The clothes one wears at such events are not merely a sartorial statement but have a lot to do with one’s identity. Remember fashion’s golden rule: you are what you wear. The Bollywood brigade at Cannes may seem a bit like the contestants in the national costume round of a beauty pageant. Keeping their identity intact while representing their country on an international platform is praiseworthy, but is it making a fashion statement?
Take, for instance, Vidya Balan. As expected, the actress opted for traditional Indian chic at Cannes. Balan, best known for her voluptuous turn in the 2011 Bollywood hit “The Dirty Picture”, covered her head on one occasion and seemed almost ready to twirl in a classyKathak move. Her blouses were close-necked and full-sleeved, and it seemed she went a bit overboard in trying to portray a conservative image.
Sonam Kapoor, known for her dramatic sense of style, made her Cannes debut two years ago in a Jean Paul Gaultier gown. This year, she wore an Anamika Khanna sari with a striking traditional nose-ring. Her other Indian outfit by Shehla Khan, which we found difficult to put a name on because it’s bizarre, was an aberration among the stylish outfits Kapoor has been sporting at Cannes. She made an attempt to mix and match both Indian and Western looks but it didn’t work all that well.
At her last Cannes outing, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan got a lot of bad press for turning out in unflattering gowns that did little for her post-pregnancy figure. While some admired the actress for embracing her body image, others dismissed her as a mere memory of the model who won the Miss World title in 1994.
In a vengeful swish of gowns and skirts, Rai Bachchan made her way back this year into the good books of most fashion aficionados.
“Gown looked very very nice and she truly stood tall … the white shirt looked truly very lovely on her,” says designer Leena Singh.
While she did wear a Sabyasachi creation, Aishwarya stood out for embracing her own style sense. At Cannes, that has meant some great gowns from Elie Saab and Armani Prive over the last decade. She has successfully defied votaries of traditional Indian fashion on the red carpet.
While Aishwarya’s simple yet sophisticated look won her applause, her father-in-law got more brickbats than expected.
Amitabh Bachchan, the grand old man of Bollywood, disappointed most with his black sequined dinner jacket at the opening night premiere of “The Great Gastby” as well as the bathrobe-like belted jacket with white shoes he wore later. Bachchan has impressed many with his dapper suits on the Indian version of the TV game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” but at Cannes, he was just not himself.
“Bachchan is Bachchan, so he doesn’t have to do (the) over-the-top thing to represent himself, you understand?” says Leena Singh. “He has got so much of substance in himself, his presence is enough to talk of his style.”

Mental is not the final title, it's tentative: Salman Khan

Bollywood actor Salman Khan's most awaited film of this year will not be known as Mental anymore. The film, which is in its production stage will also see Daisy Shah, Sana Khan and Tabu.

A leading publication also quoted a source as saying. "Salman is not very keen to continue with a quirky title like Mental as the film is being addressed as presently. Recently, Salman informed Sohail that he is not keen to continue with Mental and wants a different title now."

"It was never meant to be called 'Mental' and it was always a working title. Someone got the whiff of it and the media has ever since been reporting that. However Salman and Sohail were always clear that the film would be called something else," the source added.

Sikander's stepsister enters Bollywood

Tara Alisha Berry who lost her golfer-father Gautam Berry just two months ago, is stepping into Hindi films with a very unusual debut vehicle.

#Tara who was lately in the news for an unsavoury property dispute with her stepbrother Sikander (Gautam Berry's son from his first wife Kirron Kher), will be seen as Hindi pornographic literature's resident-guru Mastram's wife in Akhilesh Jaiswal's film on the porn litterateur.

When asked about her unusual choice for a debut, Tara says, "It was the script that clinched the deal for me. I had no clue who Mastram was. But I simply fell in love with the script. The director Akhilesh Jaiswal and I connected instantly."

Tara was not put off by the porn theme. "The film is about a porn writer. But there is nothing lurid or sleazy about the content. I found that to be deliciously ironical. It's a film about India's most well-known porn writer. But it's porn-free."

The debutant says the experience has made her confident about the film industry."It was a very fulfilling experience."

Being from a celebrity family, Tara doesn't mind struggling her way into stardom. "I think my journey so far has been similar to anyone who joins the entertainment business. I think it's equally hard work for film kids and for those who come from outside the film industry."

Alisha hasn't sought anyone's help in establishing a foothold in the industry. "Help, no. But I got guidance from people like Sameer Sharma (the director of Luv Shuv Te Chicken Khurana), Anurag Kashyap and Shanoo Sharma."

Sonam said her borthers Harshvardhan and cousin Arjun Kapoor are always with her

Sonam will next be seen in another love story by Anand L Rai's Raanjhanaa where she is cast opposite South superstar Dhanush.
Sonam rues that though she has learnt classical dance, she never gets a chance to showcase her skills onscreen.
"I don't get to do Indian dance in my films... I feel bad about it. Like for Raanjhanaa, I had to beg to my director to allow me to dance. And I got to do a good dance song in the film," Sonam said.
As far as dancing is concerned, Sonam looks upto her aunt Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit and Waheeda Rehman.
"The way they danced was so beautiful. Like today for rain dance one will be dressed in short clothes while earlier they used to wear sari. It looked so elegant...pleasant," she said.
She also likes Katrina Kaif's Chikni Chameli and Deepika Padukone's Dhumtana from Om Shanti Om.

Ranbir Kapoor detained, fined for customs violation.
ranbir kapoor
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor was on Saturday detained and fined about Rs 60,000 on undeclared branded personal goods he was carrying at the Mumbai International airport, a customs official said.
The 30-year-old actor was later let off. Kapoor, who landed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport on a British Airways flight from London at about 12.30am today, was walking away with branded goods in his luggage that required to be declared before the authorities. "The actor was intercepted when he was passing through a passage, which is strictly allowed to be used only by officials and airport staff," Sameer Wankhede, customs deputy commissioner told PTI."The actor's luggage was then checked when he was found with the branded goods such as perfumes, clothes and footwears worth about Rs one lakh which he should have declared before customs officials at the Red Channel," Wankhede said. Passengers carrying goods or items above the permitted customs limits should go through the Red Channel after paying the customs duty. Another officer said, the actor was then taken aside for an enquiry by the authorities. He seemed to be unaware about the customs rules and regulations. "For nearly 40 minutes the actor was detained, the enquiry and the verification of goods was done following which he was fined about Rs 60,000," the officer added. As Kapoor paid the fine, he was allowed to go with the goods. The actor told the authorities that he was returning from London after a film's shoot. Bollywood actors Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba, singer Mika Singh, Mallika Sherawat's brother Vikram Lamba are among the celebrities fined earlier for customs violations.

Aishwarya Rai says no to Shah Rukh for husband Abhishek

The actress refuses to do Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year'

The last time Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan came together in 'Devdas', they set the Box Office on fire.

Despite being a successful pair on-screen Ash and SRK were never cast together since then.

Now, amid talks about Ash making a comeback after her sabbatical, rumour were riff that choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan has approached Aishwarya for the female lead in 'Happy New Year' (HNY) opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Ash apparently showed interest in the project and wanted to read the script but she later changed her mind and turned it down.

Reason - Aishwarya wanted to be paired opposite husband Abhishek Bachchan (who also stars in the movie) and not Shah Rukh.

An Indian daily reports that Ash has reservations about acting in the same film with Abhsihek and not being cast opposite him. The actress feels her audiences might reject the film if they do not see the couple together.

Such a clause on Ash's part is rather uncanny as the husband and wife have been part of same movie in the past but were not paired opposite each other; the latest being 'Raavan'.

However, this only puts director Farah Khan in a tight situation.

After Ash's rejection it means the hunt for the lead actress to star opposite Shah Rukh is still on.

Farah Khan had pinned her hopes on Ash as she was not keen on casting obvious options like Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Farah also wants to avoid casting Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma opposite SRK after 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'.

Moreover, Ash is also gearing up for her return to the silver screen after her maternity break.

Farah hoped that the actress could open her new account with her movie with Shah Rukh.

But it seems Aishwarya has some other plans up her sleeves.

Ileana going great in Bollywood, bags Saif's flick
Ileana D'Cruz, the Goan babe who rose to stardom in South films, seems to be going great in Bollywood. The actress, who entered Hindi film industry with blockbuster Barfi, is being showered with offers and she has now signed yet another B-Town flick. The 'Laska laska' girl started her career in Telugu film industry. She made her acting debut in Devadasu directed by YVS Chowdhary and starring Ram. After getting success in Tollywood, the Goan babe ventured into Tamil film industry in Jyothi Krishna's Kedi. Since then, Ileana has gone strength to strength in South films. Ileana, after working hard in South film industry, got a good offer from Bollywood in the form of Barfi starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Though she played the second fiddle in the Hindi film, her performance was well-received by audience and appreciated by critics. Following the success, offers started coming her way. In the process, Ileana signed her second Bollywood project Phata Poster Nikla Hero starring Shahid Kapoor. Now, she has given green signal for her third Hindi flick featuring Saif Ali Khan.

Drop the Bollywood tag: Saif Ali Khan
If one looks at the kaleidoscope of luminaries in our history of Indian cinema, one feels admiration and awe at the achievement. I have lived a prince, and all that I have achieved I can honestly credit to the Indian film industry.
Saif Ali Khan

We could make a great story from our 100 years of Indian cinema as we’ve had some phenomenal personalities like Guru Dutt, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. Films like Kaagaz ke phool, Pakeezah, Sholay, Jewel thief, 3 Idiots are my favourites to name a few.
But let’s just not treat the completion of 100 years of Indian cinema as a mere number; we need to introspect because I think we are still a little regressive in our thoughts. I don’t think we have taken the mantle forward with honesty from our ancestors. I am sure the celebrations will be done to death, but we should understand that we have a responsibility to fulfill.
The first step should be to drop the ‘Bollywood’ tag. Why should we be happy with something that sounds like Hollywood! The people we are trying to reach cannot even speak English, so let’s just be the best we can be!
Some tremendous developments have happened in the world of cinema in the past few years, but we still need to achieve practical milestones. We have phenomenal talent, but few directors and fewer writers. In a county of billions, we talk about 100 crores when we should be talking about 700-800 crores. I think we should cater to countries like Morocco, Iran and Iraq, which we don’t. There is still a lot to be achieved. I look forward to the new talent coming in, when the first-borns will be directors and writers, and when the legacy of our masters from the past will be taken forward with sincerity.

As the Indian Cinema completes a decade, we look at some of B-Town's most shocking and scandalous stories.

Devika Rani elopes
Himanshu Rai, who ran Bombay Talkies, was left in the lurch when his wife, Devika Rani, ran off with the leading man of their latest production just four days before filming was to start!
Guru Dutt’s death
Guru Dutt was found dead on his bed in a rented apartment at Peddar Road. He is said to have been mixing sleeping pills and alcohol as he couldn’t rest. His death may have been suicide or just an accidental overdose. Incidentally, Asha Bhonsle was the last person he spoke to.
Dilip Kumar slaps Madhubala
Dilip Kumar apparently slapped Madhubala on the sets of Mughal-e Azam which they were shooting for the film. The reason surmised was that the actor was miffed with her diva-like attitude.
Dilip Kumar slaps Madhubala
Divya Bharti’s death
Divya Bharati who was married to director-producer Sajid Nadiadwala died in 1993. Bharati fell to her death from a five-storey in Versova. There was much speculation by the media regarding Bharti's sudden demise including the possibility of suicide, accidental death, conspiracy or even murder. Some conspiracy theories involved her husband while other theories suggested mafia complicity.
Sanjay Dutt linked with bomb blast case
It came as a surprise when Sanjay Dutt’s name cropped up in the 1993 bomb blast case. After political intervention by father Sunil Dutt, he was eventually let off the hook. As of now, he is expected to serve three and a half years in jail.
Zeenat Amaan beaten
Zeenat Azaam was apparently dating Sanjay Khan and the couple was in a hotel when Sanjay reportedly slapped Zeenat. To make things worse, the actress was left with not only a black eye but a damaged one at that.
Salman-Shahrukh fight
Both the superstars fought at Katrina’s birthday party about five years ago. There are multiple reasons attributed to the bust-up. One being professional insecurity.
Salman-Aishwarya ruckus
Ash was shooting for Chalte Chalte, when Salman apparently landed up on the sets and created a scene which resulted in Aishwarya losing the film to Rani Mukherji. Salman also used to land up at her house late in the night and create fodder for tabloids.
Parveen Babi’s accusations
She was rumoured to have diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia — a genetic mental illness — although she regularly denied it and said that it was a conspiracy by the film industry and the media to malign her image and make her appear as insane so that they can cover up their crimes!
Amitabh Bachchan’s accident
Amitabh Bachchan had a life-threatening accident on the sets of Coolie. The actor remained clinically ill in hospital for many months, at times close to death. Nevertheless, he spent many months recovering and resumed filming later that year after a long period of recuperation.

Priyanka's cousin Meerra Chopra enters Bollywood

The Bollywood diva, Priyanka Chopra’s cousin sister Meerra Chopra is all set to set her beautiful foot in Bollywood with her maiden film ‘Gang of Ghosts’. However, her going in Bollywood was not at all smooth. Meerra signed up for Vikram Bhatt’s 3rd installment of the movie 1920. As her schedule was packed up she had to decline the role in Satish Kaushik’s film ‘Gang of Ghosts’. But, unfortunately the shooting of Vikram’s movie got postponed for couple of months and that gave Meerra the chance to sign up for Satish’s film. As luck would have it, now ‘Gang of Ghosts’ is going to be her first film to get released.
Speaking about the turn of events, Meerra tells, “I had met Satishji just a few days after I signed 1920. The film was to start on May 1 and Satishji was starting his project as well around the same time. However just a couple of days later, I got a call from Vikram’s office informing me that the film has been pushed back. I then called Satishji, we met and everything fell into place.”
A candid Meerra spoke about her cine star cousin, “Priyanka and I belong to the same family but we are not really close. I am very proud of what she had done in her career without having a godfather. She deserves all the success that she due to her hard work. It took me a year to get these two films and although there was a long struggle and there were frustrations, I am glad that I have these two films. I know that comparisons will be inevitable when my film releases. I have realised that until and unless you are good enough, the fact that you are a brother or sister or son of anyone doesn’t matter.”
She was also questioned about the long time she took to debut in Bollywood. Replying to the query Meerra said, “I have been looking for the right film for over a year now. However I have been regularly working in the South with my Telugu film releasing this Friday and one in June. I was confident that the moment I would land in Mumbai, I would sign multiple films. However, reality stuck me when I reached the city. After about a year, 1920 happened which is a career-defining role for me and I am thankful to Vikram for believing in me. I am so happy that I have two different films, which are distinct from each other.”

When Kamal helped Shruti get scarred!
Still from D-DayVeteran actor Kamal Haasan, who has experimented with his looks in films like "Chachi 420" and "Hey Ram", gave his inputs on his daughter Shruti's look for "D-Day", in which she sports a distinct scar.

In "D-Day", directed by Nikhil Advani, Shruti plays Suraiya, a prostitute.

As part of the character̢۪s look, Shruti required to have a scar on her face, and her father is said to have helped her get it right.

Jagdish Mali is also a father of actress Antara Mali who has done a few Hindi films. May his soul rest in peace forever.

Mental is not the final title, it's tentative: Salman Khan

Bollywood actor Salman Khan's most awaited film of this year will not be known as Mental anymore. The film, which is in its production stage will also see Daisy Shah, Sana Khan and Tabu.

Though the reason is not known but apparently, the star is not very happy with the title and is looking for an alternative one.

A leading publication also quoted a source as saying. "Salman is not very keen to continue with a quirky title like Mental as the film is being addressed as presently. Sohail Khan who is directing the film has been looking at various options and the crew has been suggesting different names.

The actress was linked to her I Hate Luv Storys director Punit Malhotra but they never confirmed it publicly and now there are rumours that they have parted ways.
When asked to comment about it at a press conference here, the actress said, "I don't react to rumours. I am single... there is no man in my life. I am happy and fortunate. As of now my father is the most important man in my life."
Sonam said her borthers Harshvardhan and cousin Arjun Kapoor are always with her
"I have six brothers who are protecting me... they have a huge built up. I love them all," she said at unveiling of L'Or Sunset', a makeup collection by L'Oreal that is inspired by Bollywood. The actress will walk the red carpet at the Cannes film festival as the face of the cosmetic brand.

People of the Marathwada region have been facing acute water scarcity caused by uneven distribution of rainfall in the state.

Salman Khan, Shahid Kapoor set to work together
Salman Khan will share screen space with Shahid Kapoor for the first time in Rajkumar Santoshi’s upcoming film, Phata Poster Nikla Hero.

The Dabangg (2010) star will be seen in a special appearance in the movie, in which Shahid plays the role of a police officer.“They shot for

the scene together over the last weekend at a suburban studio. The shoot lasted for six hours or so,” reveals a source close to the production house.

However, details of Khan’s role are being kept under wraps. “Rajkumar wants it to be a surprise for the audience. So, no one, apart from the actors involved in the scene, is aware of what his role is.”

Apparently, after Salman finished shooting his portion, he stayed back on the sets for the rest of the day. The source adds, “He and Rajkumar are really close friends, so he was catching up with him. In fact, he even spent a few hours bonding with Shahid. They were seen chit-chatting for quite some time after the shoot.” The film’s female lead, Ileana D’Cruz, will not be part of the scene.

While most of the film’s shooting has been finished, an insider says that they have another month’s work left to complete. When contacted, Shahid’s spokesperson confirms the news, saying, “Yes, Shahid and Salman shot together a few days ago.”

'Chak De! India' actress made kiss scene comfortable: Shadab"I was quite nervous with the intimate scenes because I was worried about my co-actor. It's a very awkward situation, but when you have a confident co-actor, the job gets easier," Shadab told IANS.

In "B.A.Pass", directed by Ajay Bahl, Shilpa plays a rich, married woman, who turns a sex guru for the boy. She teaches him the art of lovemaking.
